After spending four months in Europe traveling and learning about architecture, I realized that in every space we inhabit, there is a rich history of people's patterns and movements waiting to be discovered and recalled. By acknowledging these traces of the past, a new design is able to be rooted in the community. We commute with a mix of walking and healthy ride bike share or use public transit when the weather gets nasty. We use car and ride sharing services sparingly. At almost a year, we have adjusted to the new lifestyle and plan to continue our car-less ways.
